Comments are simplified before matching: Turkish letters are folded, letter case is ignored, and emoji and punctuation are dropped. So “GUIDE”, “guide”, “Guide!” and “guide 🙏” trigger the same rule, and so do KURSİ and kursı.

Anywhere in the comment
“can you send the links” matches the keyword “link”.
Whole word
“link please” matches, “links” doesn't.
Entire comment
Matches only when the comment is just this keyword.

You can add several keywords to one rule.

Where should the rule run?

You choose for each rule. If several rules match a comment, the post-specific one runs first, then the oldest rule.

3 · Comment reply

A short reply under the comment, different each time

With comment replies on, a short public note goes under the comment. Write up to 10 templates and one is picked at random each time; leave it empty and built-in replies are used.

  • Type {username} to insert the commenter's name
  • You can turn comment replies off entirely
  • Your own replies never count as a new trigger, so there are no loops

Message, button and an optional follow check

The commenter gets a private message. You can add a button that opens your link, and optionally send the link only to people who follow you.

How does the follow check work?

  1. The person first gets a follow request message with a follow-confirmation button (currently labelled in Turkish: “Takip ettim”).

  2. When they tap the button (or type “takip ettim”), ReplyHook checks their follow status through the official API.

  3. If they follow you, the DM and link are sent; if not, the reminder message you wrote goes out instead.

You write the follow request and reminder messages yourself for each rule.

Reliability

No lost DMs, even when a post takes off

Every matched comment is written to a persistent delivery queue. Even if the server restarts, queued work isn't lost.

  • Retries at growing intervals

    On a temporary error the delivery waits and is retried; if Meta's rate limit is hit, it waits longer.

  • Never sent twice

    The same comment, or the same person for the same rule, never gets a second DM.

  • Backup scan for missed comments

    Comments arrive instantly through Instagram notifications; if one is missed, a regular scan still catches it.

  • Accounts don't hold each other up

    Deliveries for one account run in order, while different accounts are processed in parallel.

Good to know

  • A rule applies to comments written after it was created; old comments don't get a flood of DMs.
  • Instagram only allows private replies to comments from the last 7 days.
  • Under Instagram's rules, a comment can receive only one private reply.
